October 19, 2012: This was a fairly widely reported story. A woman who reports her alleged rape promptly and is the worse for wear has far more credibility than some airhead who claims she was raped by her boyfriend last year. When Heather Atkins told police in Columbia, South Carolina she had been raped, she certainly looked the part, but the black eye was not caused by the two men who kidnapped her off the street at gunpoint, one of whom raped her. They did not exist. She went home with a male co-worker, the man’s girlfriend caught them together, and didn’t like what she saw. Double whammy!
