April 1, 1989: New York State University student Quincy Troupe is arrested for the rape of another student. On April 15, it was reported that she was temporarily withdrawing the internal student code conduct charge so that the legal authorities could proceed with the case. (Rape should always be dealt with by the police).
On May 10, 1989, criminal charges are dropped by the Suffolk Country District Attorney. Troupe had a rock solid alibi, and there was no physical evidence because although the phantom rape happened around 10pm on March 24, 1989, the student concerned did not report it until the next day, and had showered in the meantime.
Interestingly, Little Miss Anonymous continues to be alluded to as the victim. She was white; Troupe was black, so the usual suspects tried to make a racial issue of it.
