February 8, 2004: At Pembroke Pines, Florida, a man tries to snatch a 9 year old girl. Or does he?
This is not a false rape allegation but is included here because of the age of the girl concerned. Having said that, I have no doubt that had she been three or four years older she would indeed have cried rape or at least attempted rape.
The unidentified girl told her mother that a man grabbed her around the waist and put his hand over her mouth, but she managed to escape after slapping him. She ran back into the house crying.
The police brought in extra detectives and a sketch artist. It didn’t take long for her to fess up; she was said to have been seeking attention from her mother, but days earlier an eleven year old girl was snatched from a car wash in Sarasota and murdered. This case received massive publicity.
In view of her age, no charges were filed, but you can file her under WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH KIDS TODAY?
