June 6, 2018: Newport News police receive an allegation of sexual assault. That was what the media reported, but there was a lot more to it than that.
On March 29, 2019, serving police officer Robert Jones was arrested and a press release was sent out the same day. The police chief also recorded an 18 minute plus video which was uploaded to Vimeo livestream.
The Jones arrest was on two counts of rape, carnal knowledge, forcible sodomy, four counts of taking indecent liberties and criminal solicitation.
He would eventually stand trial with co-accused Kristi Cline. Here is a 2019 report I found on YouTube. Note the poor sap was on administrative leave without pay.
It would be another three years before they stood trial; they were acquitted of most of the charges in June 2022 after eight hours of deliberation. Wisely, Jones took the stand in his own defense. It was he who first reported her allegations. In 2016, the woman contacted Mrs Cline accusing her, Jones and several other people of having unwanted sex with her.
Clearly the photographs Mrs Cline was meant to have taken for Jones never materialised, and his lawyers pointed out that he was partially cleared by chronology.
I found a video of a report after the trial but was unable to download it. Here is a half decent audio only recording.
And here, added at a later date, is a press report from some six months after the Jones arrest. If half the things claimed herein are true, it beggars belief that any honest prosecutor would have taken the case to trial.
File this mad bitch under HEAD CASE.
