OLD MILL HIGH SCHOOL — Two Cases In Quick Succession

February 15, 2005: In Maryland, a girl on her way to Old Mill High School is pounced on by four men dressed in black who emerge from the woods, and rape her. That was her first claim. The following day, she recants, but it is possible she may have been the victim of a (fairly trivial) physical assault. According to NewsBank, the article below by Heather A. Dinich appeared on page B1.

February 17, 2005: In Maryland, a 14 year old girl from Old Mill High School tells police she was raped twice by a 16 year old pupil twice within a week. The police carry out a thorough investigation and swiftly conclude no kind of sexual assault was committed. According to NewsBank, the article below by Eric Hartley and Dionne Walker appeared on page A1. Spot the spelling mistake in the title.

Note there is no mention of a rape kit, which should have been mandatory, especially with the first report.

There was, believe it or not, an earlier report from Maryland. According to the first of the above articles, an 11 year old girl was allegedly raped near Annapolis Walk on February 4, a Friday. A man dragged her into a car and raped her. The rape was reported by a relative Monday morning. Again, there is no mention of a rape kit being administered. The police believed this report to be fabricated - let us hope so - but to date I have found no further reports.
