November 5, 2008: John Singyenga visits prostitute Sharon Bhatti in Hackney. He is HIV positive, and apparently doesn’t tell her, at least not before they have sex. When she finds out, she recruits Anthony Anderson and Rupert Daley to beat him up and rob him when he comes back for another session the following day. She also cries rape.
Singyenga is arrested, but it is months before Bhatti does the decent thing.
On September 28, 2009, at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Anderson and Daley are each given three years; she is given 12 months.
She was said to have had more than 80 (eighty) convictions for loitering. She was also in her forties, a mother of two, and married!
You might have mixed feelings about this case. In England, it is a criminal offence to recklessly infect someone with HIV, even a prostitute, which could have happened here.
