September 12, 1984: Florida police officer Harold Grant Snowden is arrested.
Known as Grant Snowden, he was South Miami Officer Of The Year in 1983. In March 1986, he was convicted by a six person jury of offences against a young girl and her baby brother. In 1985, he was cleared of molesting a 4 year old girl in 1977.

August 28, 1989: A 14 year old boy is arrested in Florida on suspicion of...well, take a gander at this excellent analysis of Bobby Fijnje - the so-called Old Cutler case - which saw Stephen Ceci appearing as an expert witness. (You will find his name elsewhere in this database).
Here is an HTML version of the letter the jurors sent to the State Attorney after they had acquitted this poor kid of all charges; it is dated May 9, 1991. The State Attorney concerned went on to serve as Attorney General of the United States; this has been called the case Janet Reno would like to have forgotten. This and the Waco massacre, of course.

October 27, 1998: The Frontline documentary The Child Terror is screened; this covers the Grant Snowden case and others. It was uploaded to YouTube on April 27, 2020 and had been viewed fewer than six hundred times by February 21, 2021.

Less than a month after this documentary was screened, the charges against Grant Snowden were finally dismissed.
