JILL McKAY — Nutter Of The North

September 1, 2006: In Scotland, Jill McKay makes a false rape allegation. This case of a woman who was clearly mentally disturbed received little publicity outside of the regional press.

We begin though with her 1997 conviction for making hoax phone calls to the emergency services. This report of said conviction appeared in the Daily Record. As usual, because she was a woman she was said to have needed medical help instead of punishment. (You can enlarge the PDF with a few clicks of the mouse).

On February 16, 2007, she was arrested, and her actions that day led to her being charged with resisting arrest. When she appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court on February 26, 2007, sentence was deferred. She was said to have served numerous prison sentences.

She appeared in court again on April 2, 2007, apparently as part of the ongoing case, but two days later, she was found dead in her home. The inference is that this was suicide. She was 31 years old.
