December 6, 2013: In Australia, a woman makes an allegation of domestic violence against her prison officer boyfriend. He is arrested.
Three and a half months later she goes one better, staging an aggravated rape. The poor guy is arrested again, and this time spends months behind bars, but when she over-eggs the pudding, the case against him falls apart, and finally she fesses up.
This was not her first false rape allegation! In 2008, she claimed to have been raped by a neighbour the previous year, and roped in her own mother to help fabricate the case.
In November 2018, she was identified as Sarah-Jane Parkinson when she pleaded guilty unexpectedly. In January 2019, she was sentenced to 3 years 1 month with 2 years non-parole.
Unsurprsingly, this case was the subject of a documentary. On April 8, 2019, it was uploaded to the 60 Minutes Australia YouTube channel where it had run up nearly fifty and a half million views by June 10, 2023.
